Vulnerable Corporations, Silent Dinners, and Design Swarms
What’s on at the House — Day 4, Monday, November 6th, 2017
We continue our exploration of the new future of work, with another full day of workshops, discussions, and celebrations.
Kick-start your day with Breakfast with Humans, where you’ll be treated to a nutritious spread from our House Chef Massimo Sanfelice, a chat with House residents and friends, and a very special kind of press conference.
Then take on a Design Swarms challenge at the Studio with Surya Vanka and DIFR. You’ll tackle a Beautiful Business design challenge with a uniquely agile and collaborative problem-solving format. In this session, our facilitators will take us from idea to concept.
The Studio space will be open and free to use all day for co-working, networking, and hanging out. Get creative in our music studio or browse through the Library of Beautiful Business, featuring curiosities and artifacts from our House residents. Stop by the “Humans of New Work” exhibition by Soulworx, a photo-documentary series of profiles on the new faces of human-centered work. Or discover your AI alter-ego with Indeed. We’ll keep you supplied with snacks, beverages, and power outlets!
At 18:00, bring your business challenges to our partners at Caffeine — a strategic consultancy that works with leaders to help them define and deliver their vision quickly and smartly. They will be hosting Purpose & Pace — a speed-coaching session, to help you identify and articulate the purpose of your business. (If you miss this one, they will be hosting sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday as well).
Play, build, and experiment with an exploration of Building a Beautiful Business with Ariadna Esteve.
Then we’ll settle into a workshop on The Future of Employee Experience. Dialogues and perspectives, experiences and wild guesses will be discussed by Rosa Riera, VP of Employer Branding and Social Innovation, Siemens; Alex Antolino, Creative Director, Typeform; and more.
Tonight is a big night for dinner at the House. We’re hosting an exclusive Silent Dinner, where yes — we’ll be eating sans mots. We’ll savor food, company, and silence, with a twist — while in public (note: Pre-registration required).
The first of our VIP 15 Toasts dinners will also run tonight with a 15 Toasts to Commitment dinner at the Studio, hosted by Siemens and The Business Romantic Society. 15 Toasts, launched in collaboration with the World Economic Forum and Thrive Labs, is a unique, story-based dinner format that creates a safe space for power and vulnerability to clink glasses (note: pre-registration required).
Later in the evening, we’ll go deeper into the emotional side of the business world with a talk on The Vulnerable Corporation, hosted by Massimo Portincaso from BCG and Léa Steinacker of German business publication WirtschaftsWoche. They’ll be hosting a conversation with Martin Reeves, BCG Henderson Institute; Gianpiero Petriglieri from INSEAD; Rosa Riera, from Siemens; and others.
The port will be flowing come midnight with our ritual Late Night Living Room. Martin Harrison, Kortical’s philosophical marketer and Soulworx founder and CEO Julia von Winterfeldt will be hosting, with a free-flowing mix of lectures, readings, and conversations with residents and special guests.
